Bridges to somewhere

Ben Bernanke suggested today that a fiscal stimulus may be in order.  That generally means

  1. tax cuts–aka, massive redistribution of wealth to the wealthy (GOP idea); or
  2. expanding unemployment insurance, food stamps, infrastructure projects, or aid to state and local governments (Dem idea).

I’d vote for number two.  Specifically, I’d combine the “infrastructure projects” with the “aid to state and local governments”.  Even more specifically, I’d favor a plan to repair the streets in my part of town.  They really suck.
